Campioni d’Europa!

Un breve spazio alla festa...

Non è la prima volta che la rete nazionale sismica dell'INGV registra fenomeni che non sono legati ad attività naturale ma all'attività umana. Traffico urbano, aerei che rompono la barriera del suono, attività industriali e minerarie, concerti, manifestazioni sportive: piccole vibrazioni del suolo che la sensibilità delle stazioni sismiche è in grado di registrare.  Anche il nostro entusiamo durante i rigori della finale euro2020 tra Italia ed Inghilterra è stato registrato, anche se probabilmente in misura minore del passato per via delle precauzioni per il Covid. Qui il segnale della stazione sismica di Montecelio in provincia di Roma (MTCE) durante i rigori. Non è una grande città, ma in questo caso la registrazione è stata possibile perchè la stazione è collocata all'interno dell'abitato e su uno strato di roccia che ha un ridotto livello di rumore sismico di fondo.

It is not the first time that the INGV national seismic network records phenomena that are not related to natural activity but to human activity. Urban traffic, airplanes breaking the sound barrier, industrial and mining activities, concerts, sports events: small ground vibrations that the sensitivity of seismic stations is able to record.  Even our excitement during the penalty shootout of the Euro2020 final between Italy and England has been recorded, although probably to a lesser extent than in the past due to Covid precautions. Here the signal from the seismic station of Montecelio in the province of Rome (MTCE) during the penalty shootout. It is not a big city, but in this case, the recording was possible because the station is located inside the built-up area and on a layer of rock that has a reduced level of background seismic noise.
